Memorial Day Weekend?

It seemed as if everyone wanted to get off of work early for the Memorial Day weekend. The sad thing was that none of them had any concrete plans. No picnics, no parties and definately no travel with the price of gasoline. Is this the way long weekends are suppose to be? I think not. I'll spend some time with family and friends. I might even do a little shopping. But as fas as traveling outside a 25 mile radius......I think not.
