"Back in 1775, my Marine Corps came alive!" 233 years and still going strong! I am one of the Few, the Proud, the Marines!
Yet as I celebrate this annual birthday, there are also men and women from all branches of the military, "celebrating" to a certain extent, Veterans Day. This is a day dedicated to those that have served in our Nation's military and have at one time or another sacrificed time from their family and friends, put their educational goals on hold and even left behind good paying jobs, for a calling much higher than themselves. To these people and to these people only, I say, "Thank you! I am happy to be among your ranks!"
By the way, have you, "Thanked" a Veteran today? Buy them a drink, buy them dinner, fillup their gas tank, give them a hug, a kiss, a handshake. Or maybe, just maybe, if you think about it, just say, "Thank you" and go about your merry way. We as Veterans don't even expect that but are very grateful when it occurs.
So, to my fellow Veterans, I say, "Thank You!"
And to my fellow Marines, "Semper Fi!"
