Do you finish every book that you start? Well that answer depends on the type of book and what do you mean by, "finish."
With all good intentions, I visit the local library and pick a few selections based on what I have heard or maybe even the interesting look of the sleeve. Once I get it back home, sometimes it'll sit on my nightstand for a few days before I begin to read it. I usually know within the first few chapters whether or not it is a keeper and I should read it all the way through.
But there are other books that I will get at the library, and basically follow the same procedure that never get read with much intensity. Sometimes the book looked good, the information on the sleeve was interesting, but when you finally start reading it, it is as dry as old toast. Ugh! That is when I usually peruse through the remaining pages, capturing bits and pieces and when I finally turn that last page, I am "finished" with the book.
Ok, let us recap.
Get the book.
Read it all the way through = Finished.
Read part of it, page the rest of the way through = Finished.
Either way, when you are at a party or having a conversation with a friend and they ask you if you have read a particular book, you can actually answer yes.
Finishing a book has different meaning. You, the reader will have to decide which way you want to "finish" the book.
Time for me to hit the library!
