Yep! That's right! We are expecting the season's first snow tonight! I am as giddy as all get up. I grew up where snow actually comes earlier in the year and since I haven't lived there in such a long time, even talk of snow flurries brings back good memories.
With that stated, is it time to raid the local markets and get enough toilet paper, milk, bread and other consumables to last for a week? Naw! I've been through this drill too often and living just two miles away from the closest market, I could walk if I had to. Does that answer that question? I thought so.
Along with the season's first snow, it's time for me to start writing Christmas cards and making a list of gifts I have yet to purchase. Yes, I am a procrastinator when it comes to the holidays. I try every year to get a head start but to no avail. Maybe next year? Yeah, right!
By the way, are you done with your Thanksgiving yet? What I mean is, have you gotten rid of all the left overs? Tonight is the night at my house. We've been eating on this bird for a little over a week and it's time for it to be shown the trash bin. The same goes with the leftover mashed potatoes, sweet yams, and cranberry sauce. There are a couple of pieces of pie left. I'll eat those this weekend during the football games.
Ahhh, the travails of the upcoming winter.
Have a great weekend!
PS Not last and definately not least, remember our servicemembers overseas and their families that support them. They continue to need our support daily. Semper Fi!
